The Hirzebruch Genera, Symmetric Functions and Multiple Zeta Values

Abstract:
In this talk we first review several classical oriented and complex genera, and then explain how to derive the coefficients in front of the characteristic numbers, where the symmetric function theory and mutiple-(star) zeta values are involved.

Ping Li
Ping Li currently works at Tongji University, Shanghai. He obtained his Ph.D. at Peking University in 2009 under the guidance of Boju Jiang and Haibao Duan. His research focuses on manifold topology and its intersection to differential geometry.
